Upon acceptance of the quote by the client, the house painter must purchase the correct quantity of paint in the required colors. Some house painters list the exact brand and shade of paint in the quote. It is the painter's responsibility to determine exactly what type of primer and paint is suitable. .
I have used Kelly Brothers a number of times from entire house painting interior and exterior as well as this time for patio furniture and a number of maintenance items. They are simply great. Julio and Omar were very courteous, responsive, timely and professional. I highly recommend them.
Think through any areas that might need a deep clean or primed before painting. Ceiling painting in particular can be overlooked at this stage in the process. Older popcorn ceilings might need removed, smoothed, primed and painted. Or some ceilings may not have been cleaned in years, which means new paint may not adhere properly.

If it has been a while since you last painted, chances are, your home is in need of a new paint job. Homeowners face common issues, such as cracking in the stucco, discoloration, peeling, flaking, and chipping of the outer layer. If you live in an area such as Daly City, San Francisco, Marin County, Oakland, or anywhere else in the Bay Area, your home deals with weathering. Throughout the year, your home faces different extremes of weathering. The Bay Area is a place where houses can experience a huge range of environmental conditions. Over time, this can wear down even the sturdiest of houses, causing aesthetic losses which make the house appear aged.
Here at Wall Works, we make it easier for you to give your home a complete facelift without worries and hassles.
Josh, some great work on the renovation, it’s come up really nicely! It’s good to see you stressing the importance of not taking short cuts when it comes to prepping and removing wallpaper. It definitely does lead to more problems down the road when done incorrectly. However there is a caveat on that. If the wallpaper is in good condition and you have primed it properly, you can get away with painting over wallpaper. On a few jobs where the client has been on a tight budget, we have used an oil based primer to really seal the adhesive and keep then moisture from the paint away. Has worked well and we haven’t got any call backs. But I’d still agree with you and always push for stripping back wallpaper where possible. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure as the saying goes. Also, would love to see how your painted popcorn ceilings came up. We call it ‘vermiculite’. Its quite old school and we come across it in school jobs and old buildings occasionally. Jake Beals May 09, 2020

For exterior painting jobs, you may have to deal with a few repairs beforehand. For older homes, damaged siding can make or break a painting project. Whether you have a small crack or a large gaping hole, it's important to have a professional deal with it before you begin painting. Most siding contractors will charge between $40 and $75 per hour to repair house siding.
