There’s more to it than just painting houses. For example, like any other small business owner, those who own house painting companies aren’t immune from cash flow problems. When the cash river of a painting business runs dry, you’re unable to buy supplies, market your business and pay contractors and employees. You may have a hard time making insurance and tax payments too.
After starting a painting project and needing some help I came to this article. Thanks for the advice. Stephanie Hammington September 05, 2019

If a home goes unpainted through the seasons, you may end up with extensive wood damage that could cost thousands to repair. The easiest way to prevent this is with a fresh coat of paint before winter weather sets in. Luckily, Sharper Impressions Painting Company in Columbus can provide the exact exterior home painting services you need to prepare your house from harsh weather conditions before it’s too late.
The lack of quality painters probably comes from the unwillingness of homeowners to hire and pay for qualified professional painting contractors. Some people choose a painter based on the lowest bid. Without being able to qualify what makes that bid different than others besides low price, homeowners will always get a low-quality job.
The average cost to paint a house exterior is $1,900 to $6,900. House repainting costs depend on the home's exterior size and condition, number of stories, number of windows and doors, paint quality, siding material, repairs, prep work, and labor. Labor accounts for 70% to 80% of the total cost. DIY painting a house exterior costs $400 to $1,800 for materials only. Exterior house painting cost per square foot
A wrong paint color scheme, on the other hand, can really cheapen and distract from your very expensive kitchen, date your brand new flooring, or make even the most elaborate Victorian exterior look boring, bland and blah.
Scrape from all directions to ensure getting all of the loose paint. Hold the scraper flat—with two hands, if necessary—so you don’t gouge the wood.
It can be! If you have the skillset to get the job done right, offer good customer service, and are strategic, then starting a painting business can be a great investment in your future.

Not only did his painters do absolutely nothing to fix any previous problems but there was dripping all over from their work! When I called to complain, he starting yelling at me and told me I WAS WRONG! I had to send him photos of the garbage work.
Painting projects can turn you into a home improvement artist, dramatically transforming a room or providing a complete exterior makeover for more creativity than cash. You can DIY if your gables or eaves aren’t too high and your patience isn’t too thin. But before taking the painting plunge, consider the following:
Average-sized townhouses cost between $4,813 and $13,750 to paint. A townhouse may have two or three floors and often sports a rather narrow width compared to traditional single-family homes. Painting the exterior of a two-story or three-story structure usually costs more because it takes extra effort to reach the top floors. Still, one of the perks of living in a townhouse is that the exterior only includes the front and the back since the sides are shared walls with other townhouses. Shared walls may offset the added labor cost required to paint the upper stories.
The primary difference between the cost of interior paints ($10 to $70 per gallon) and exterior paints ($15 to $80 per gallon) is the resin. The resins used in exterior paints are softer, making them resistant to flaking, chipping, and sun damage. The interior paint uses a more rigid resin that resists marking and staining. Many exterior paints use a resin that causes outgassing, an emission of volatile organic compounds. Common to many manufactured products, it is what causes that “new car smell.” The outgassing from exterior paint resins continues for many years, even after the odor dissipates. It is a major reason professionals don't use or allow homeowners to use exterior paints indoors.
I don't mind painting, but house painting contractors have so much experience that they can have a crew in and out of your house in a short period of time. It takes me forever to complete a paint job. With the planning, prep work, primer, painting and then the clean up, it sometimes seems that I will never finish. Sporkasia March 13, 2014
