Paint primer costs $10 to $30 per gallon can on average and ensures the paint sticks the surface evenly. Most jobs require a primer, especially if the wall has been painted over, the walls had wallpaper or a textured surface, or for a more drastic color change. Use a latex-based primer with latex paint and oil-based primer with oil paint. A stain-blocking primer offers mildew resistance and blocks most stains from bleeding through the paint. Paint-and-primer combo products are suitable for repainting the same color, or small touch-ups. How Much Paint Do I Need For A Room?
Having completed training in lead-safe practices as required under the EPA’s Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule, Drew is a certified lead-safe renovator. Under this rule, contractors performing renovation, repair and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in homes, child care facilities, and schools built before 1978 must be certified and must follow specific work practices to prevent lead contamination.
We’re specialists at interior and exterior painting, and we also finish cabinets, doors and more.

Painting your own house sounds fun since you could do it anyway you want. But I don’t think I would be able to do that though. Hope I could do that someday though 🙂 tisha February 26, 2015

A Word About Lead Paint: Before scraping or sanding paint on a home built before 1978, test the paint for lead. (For more information, see Testing for Lead). Sanding or scraping paint that contains lead can be very hazardous to the health of your family. You can buy an inexpensive lead-test kit online or at a home improvement center.
Therefore, the ideal time to paint house exteriors is in the early summer and early fall. These two periods offer the best weather conditions for painting since there are minimal fluctuations in temperatures and minimal rain.

This company began by painting the side of our house when they were supposed to be painting the walls inside of our screened patio. we never showed them the side of our house -- never discussed it yet they blamed this mistake on us. They then painted over the holes where the screws to a hurricane shutters go. Next they painted the ceiling of our patio green instead of white and got paint on the pool patio screens. This company promised to paint our driveway and garage floor, even after being asked about proper preparation, they assured us they knew what they were doing and we now cannot use our driveway or a garage floor without pulling the paint up with our tires. I do not recommend them!
